Happy Birthday, Swarovski! Jewellery Icons Mark Their 125th Anniversary

Happy birthday to you, Swarovski.

Happy birthday, SWAROVSKI! The Austrian producers of crystal jewellery celebrate their 125th anniversary with signature creations and unique designs.

1893 was a long time ago when Daniel Swarovski from Wattens, in Austria created his method for producing “diamonds for everyone”.

It was in 1895 when the company was founded.

Today, the SWAROVSKI brand is now synonymous with A-list celebrities donning their jewellery on the red carpet. But that isn’t anything new.

Since the 1930s, SWAROVSKI jewellery has been showcased on the big screen. It started in the golden age of Hollywood.

Marilyn Monroe once sang, “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend”. Both Audrey and Marilyn were actually wearing the dazzling crystal created by SWAROVSKI.

Are Swarovski diamonds real?

SWAROVSKI do not use diamonds, they use crystal. In fact, they’re actually a mixture of glass with special fine materials.

They are created and cut with meticulous precision which is why they can be mistaken for being real diamonds, and why they are as expensive as they are. But they are still affordable.

Happy Birthday, Mr. President

Diamonds might be a girl’s best friend. But Marilyn Monroe preferred to wear SWAROVSKI crystal.

In fact, Marilyn Monroe sang “Happy Birthday” to the then president whilst wearing a dress like Rhianna’s. That sold in auction for $4.8 Million.

SWAROVSKI crystals have been a staple for movie stars and pop music icons for decades, and they still are.

After 125 years, SWAROVSKI continue to bless the outfits and dresses of our much beloved fashionistas, and they can bless yours, too. But the look will be much more affordable.
